5 Initiatives That’ll Change the Way You Think of Uber

Critics may say Uber is solely driven by profits and the idea of undermining the traditional transportation industry. To set the record straight, I truly believe Uber has no interest in undermining the transportation industry, but rather, they aim to improve it, and if that improvement happens to be profitable and slightly disruptive, then so be it. Just as Uber is changing the way people think of transportation, I hope that their “extracurricular activities” change the way people of think of Uber. Here’s just a few of Uber’s recent endeavors over the past year:

1. Uber and Capital One

As a leader in low rates, Uber takes pride in being significantly cheaper than their competitors.
More than likely, you’ve probably already paid to use one of our many Uber services, but what if Uber decided to pay you instead?
From now until April 2016, get 20% statement credit for
every Uber ride you book with a Capital One Quicksilver credit card.
Don’t have a Quicksilver Card, apply here.
Let Uber and Capital One take you even further.
*The average approved credit score for this card is 617.

2. UberFRESH

Available only in the Los Angeles area (for now), UberFRESH delivers tasty, ready-to-eat lunch and dinner meals in less than 10 minutes.  No more hassles with traffic, parking, reservations, long lines, and bad waiters. Enjoy a delicious meal without ever leaving your dorm or apartment.
UberFRESH is available Monday through Friday for lunch
between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and for dinner between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. There’s even
a brunch schedule for weekends between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The menu is predetermined a week in advance and varies
depending on which area of LA you’re located. Two entrée options are available
during each meal time in an effort to provide variety for different price
points and tastes. Lunch prices range from $10- $12 and dinner prices range
from $10-$14. There’s also a flat $3 delivery fee.
The payment process is identical to the regular Uber ride
process, with all transactions done within the app.
Best of all- UberFRESH doesn’t use surge pricing during busy

3. UberRelax

On April 17th, Uber is partnering with Massage on the Move to bring comfort to the doorstep of all Johannesburg residents. For only $200, you and five friends could experience Indian Head and Shoulder Tension Releasing massages. Simply open the Uber app on Friday, April 17th from 10 a.m- 6 p.m, select the lotus icon, set pickup location, and tap the “Uber Relax” button to schedule your home visit. Don’t have five friends? Don’t worry, because your $200 pays for an hour of massage service, regardless of how many people are present.

4. UberChopper

On select dates in select cities all over the world, Uber offers sky-high tours at the tap of a button. Arrive in style as an Uber SUV escorts you to the helipad, where you can head to destinations such as Coachella Valley, The Hamptons, or the Cape of Good Hope.
Prices, destinations, and dates vary and this service sells out quite quickly. In order to receive real-time notifications about  upcoming UberChopper services, follow them on Twitter @Uber.

5. UberSuperCars
